The Ministry of Finance sees no risks for the fulfillment of budget obligations in 2023, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said.
“This year we have no serious concerns about budget execution. We have no problems with all the basic solutions, we will do everything. In terms of additional resources, resources will be found,” the minister said (quote according to TASS).
According to Siluanov, the Ministry of Finance will reach “planned tasks, so we do not have any special risks of fulfilling all our obligations.”
“We will fulfill all our priority obligations and find money for new tasks that need to be addressed,” the head of the Ministry of Finance specified. He added that “for the next three years”, the ministry, together with the government, are working on tasks for “resource mobilization”.
Formerly Siluanov declaredthat the Ministry of Finance does not exclude a change in the federal budget deficit in 2023 “both in one direction and in the other.” At the same time, he did not specify what the range of fluctuations of this volume would be.
At the end of June, the Ministry of Finance presented an initiative for a “frontal reduction” in government spending in the 2024 budget, Vedomosti wrote. According to sources, Siluanov, at a meeting of the government commission on budget projections, suggested that departments cut spending by 10%.
