The Ministry of Industry and Trade called on metallurgists to consider reducing prices for fittings for government buildings

The Ministry of Industry and Trade invited metallurgical enterprises to explore options for reducing the cost of fittings for the construction of facilities under regional or state orders. About it reported at the international exhibition “Neva-2023” State Secretary and Deputy Head of the Department Viktor Evtukhov.
“If companies purchase fittings to fulfill a state or regional order <…>they could get a lower price. <…> Sent [металлургов] think about how to bring this idea to life for the common benefit. We also agreed to hold another meeting to understand exactly how such a mechanism can be implemented in practice,” said Evtukhov (quoted by TASS).
He added that suppliers can easily check which government project needs the fittings. All documentation can be found in electronic form. The Ministry of Industry and Trade may hold the next meeting with manufacturers on the issue of reducing prices in a week, the deputy head of the department noted.
Previously, the Ministry of Economic Development proposed introducing a permanent mechanism for changing contract prices due to the rising cost of building materials. The department noted that it is necessary to establish clear criteria for the possibility of adjusting the prices of contracts that are already being executed, as well as approve a “road map” to support manufacturers of building materials. The Ministry of Energy also invited companies to hire predominantly Russian workers when carrying out government construction orders.
