The Ministry of Health has developed order, which establishes a single time for a patient’s appointment with a psychiatrist, narcologist and psychotherapist. It is assumed that a psychiatrist on an outpatient basis will spend 24 minutes, a psychiatrist-narcologist – 26 minutes, a psychotherapist – 42 minutes.
Moreover, if the patient comes for an appointment for prophylaxis, the norm of appointment time is reduced to 65% of the norm for the appointment of a patient with the disease. A psychiatrist should spend no more than 35% of the appointment time on paperwork, and a narcologist psychiatrist should spend no more than 42% of the time.
As the Ministry of Health clarified to RIA Novosti, the standards are not mandatory, but advisory. Medical organizations can set their own appointment times.
In 2020, the Ministry of Health established time standards for appointments with infectious disease specialists and other doctors. It is recommended for a hematologist and infectious disease specialist to spend 20 minutes with a patient in case of illness, an oncologist – 23 minutes, a pulmonologist and surgeon – 26 minutes, and a phthisiatrician – 35 minutes.
