The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported daily cyber attacks on Russian authorities and media

Russian government agencies and media are subject to powerful hacker attacks every day. This was announced by Secretary of State – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Evgeny Ivanov.
“In fact, Russian government agencies, the media, critical infrastructure facilities, and life support systems are subject to powerful hacker attacks every day. Our ministry is no exception here,” he said (quote according to TASS).
Ivanov noted that ensuring global information security is a “serious challenge.” The diplomat added that it is necessary to constantly improve security measures, including preventing data leaks, detecting intrusions, promptly restoring the functioning of affected systems, etc.
One of the latest major cyber attacks was carried out on the Leonardo reservation system (a joint development of Rostec and Sirena-Travel). There was a global failure in the service, which at Rostec explained DDoS attacks from abroad. The state corporation noted that the goal of the attackers is to stop air transportation in Russia.
A few days later, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov statedthat the country’s “IT army” is allegedly behind the cyber attacks on Leonardo.
