The Ministry of Finance proposes to consider the privatization of individual assets next year without loss of control by the state, said the head of the department, Anton Siluanov. He considers privatization one of the resources for replenishing the budget.

The minister clarified that this is a “more specific” issue, it needs to be discussed in the government, so he did not give examples of assets that can be privatized. “We could look further next year at selling individual state assets, attracting more private business to state-owned enterprises, without losing control on the part of the state,” Mr. Siluanov said in an interview with journalist Naila Asker-zade (quoted from RIA Novosti). .

In April, the head of VTB Andrey Kostin statedthat restarting privatization in Russia could become a source of funds for creating a new model of economic growth. The Kremlin then said, which does not discuss restarting privatization. At the beginning of October Anton Siluanov toldthat the Ministry of Finance has compiled a list of companies that can additionally be included in the list for privatization in the next three years.
