The Ministry of Finance of Russia in the future may limit the export of precious metals by individuals in excess of the allowable volume. The introduction of restrictions on the purchase and sale of gold is not discussed. About it TASS reported in the press service of the department.

“Restrictions or freezing of gold purchase and sale transactions are not discussed – neither for individuals, nor for legal entities. The Ministry of Finance of Russia, on the contrary, seeks to develop the precious metals market and make gold a full-fledged market investment product. Restrictions in the future can only affect the export of precious metals by individuals, if its volume exceeds the allowable one,” the press service said.

July 4 Ministry of Finance proposed to extend the ban on the export of waste and scrap of precious metals, introduced on November 8, 2021, until the end of January 2023. The purpose of the ban is to maintain a stable source of secondary raw materials for the processing and production of precious metals in the domestic market, stated in the explanatory note of the Ministry of Finance.
