Ministry of Finance: tax conditions for remote workers should remain unchanged
The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation said that the tax conditions for Russians working remotely should remain unchanged. A message published on the telegram channel of the ministry says that the equalization of personal income tax for residents and non-residents will help maintain equal tax conditions for employees working remotely via the Internet.
Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Sazanov explained that the tax rate for remote workers should be the same as for other employees – 13% or 15%.
Now, if a taxpayer works with a Russian company, it, being a tax agent, determines the tax rate depending on the situation.
Earlier, the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes proposed to adopt in the first reading the norms on taxation for Russians working from abroad.
