Ministry of Finance He has made a decision exclude the possibility of investing the funds of the National Wealth Fund (NWF) in dollar assets. The share of the yuan will be limited to 60%, non-cash gold – 40%. Account balances in pounds and yen have been reset to zero.
“As a result of these changes, the currency structure of the NWF has become better adapted to the challenges facing the Russian Federation in the current macroeconomic and geopolitical conditions,” the ministry said in a statement.
Previously, the NWF was 40% euro, 30% yuan, 20% gold, and almost 5% pound sterling and yen. Its volume as of December 1 was 11.4 trillion rubles.
