The rapid restoration of power supply in Crimea is hampered by difficult weather conditions. The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation announced this on Wednesday, November 29.
In total, in the southern regions of the country, as of 15:00 Moscow time on November 29, 117 thousand people remained without electricity, the department specified. More than 500 teams with a total number of about 2 thousand people are involved in emergency restoration work. Over 600 units of special equipment were involved.
However, due to strong wind and rain, repeated outages are recorded from previously powered consumers.
Also, the work of power engineers is hampered by shelling of Russian energy facilities in the Kherson region and the ban on carrying out work in the dark.
According to official data, more than 43 thousand people in Crimea remain without power supply for the fourth day, but local residents claim that this figure is much higher. Social networks claim that there are no repair teams, people live in darkness and cold, it is impossible to buy anything in stores and pharmacies due to the lack of light and Internet access.
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said that the situation with the hurricane shows how the authorities, services and residents of cities and regions of Crimea interact with each other. He promised that in the region will evaluate the work administrations of cities and districts to eliminate the consequences of the hurricane.
