The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, arrived at the Crimean bridge, where a truck exploded this morning. According to him, the prompt actions of the rescuers helped prevent more severe damage. He stated that 9 out of 59 tanks on the railway tracks on the bridge caught fire, but they were extinguished.

“The prompt, well-coordinated and highly professional actions of the employees ensured the rapid localization of the fire. The quick uncoupling of the train made it possible to avoid the spread of fire – only 9 out of 59 cars burned down, thereby saving the railway part of the bridge from more serious damage, ”said the head of the Ministry of Emergencies, TASS quoted him as saying.

A truck on the Crimean bridge exploded at 06:07 Moscow time on October 8. As a result, two automobile spans of the bridge were destroyed, and a railway train with tanks next to it caught fire. There are two fire trains, aviation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, more than 180 rescuers and 40 pieces of equipment in extinguishing the fire, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin also arrived at the Crimean Bridge. According to him, staged the task is to resume road traffic across the bridge along two lanes (now the traffic goes only along one lane in reverse mode).
