The Ministry of Emergency Situations plans to tighten fire control: where smoking will be banned

Even electronic cigarettes will not be allowed in the hayfields.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations is going to make changes to the Fire Regulations in the Russian Federation. Scroll proposed innovations are submitted for public discussion on the portal of regulatory legal acts.

Many existing rules are planned to be tightened. For example, standards for the operation of household gas equipment. Now it is forbidden to use faulty devices; you cannot leave them unattended in working condition. In addition, standards are specified for the distance at which gas equipment must be removed from furniture and other flammable objects. The creators of the document propose to supplement the rules with a new paragraph, which describes in detail how gas cylinders should be stored. Firstly, in a closed room there cannot be more than one cylinder with a volume of up to 5 liters, and it must be connected to a gas appliance. All other cylinders should be stored outside, in outbuildings, cabinets or under covers. Cabinets must be locked, the doors must have blinds or slots for ventilation and the inscription “Flammable. Gas”.

The ban on smoking in warehouses and depots, grain collection points, grain tracts and hayfields, healthcare and educational facilities is also being clarified. The updated rules will deal not just with smoking, but with smoking “tobacco, as well as the use of devices for consuming nicotine-containing products.” That is, it is also planned to ban smoking electronic cigarettes in such places. Another innovation concerns the placement of evacuation plans in case of fire. While current regulations state that they must be hung in prominent places, in the future they will have to be hung on every floor.
