The Ministry of Education has added a threshold of points for the Unified State Exam to the conditions for awarding the silver medal

A student will receive a silver medal if he receives no more than two “B”s in the certificate (there must be an “A” in other subjects) and scores at least 60 points for the Unified State Examination in the Russian language and any other subject, it follows from order Ministry of Education of Russia, published on the official portal of legal information.
The order also states that in order to receive a gold medal, the student will have to get A’s in all subjects in the certificate and score at least 70 points for the Unified State Examination in the Russian language and any other subject.
At the federal level, the silver medal has not been awarded to students since 2014. Regions had the right to independently choose the procedure for rewarding school graduates, including the presentation of silver medals. Previously, the conditions for receiving medals did not include points for subjects on the Unified State Exam.
From the 2023/24 academic year, applicants will charge to the Unified State Exam results up to three points for a silver medal and up to five points for a gold medal.
