The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation will develop a history textbook with a section on the military operation in Ukraine for non-core specialties in universities, deputy head of the department Konstantin Mogilevsky told TASS. According to him, the textbook will be prepared during the next academic year.
He said that the concept of the content of this course has already been approved, and it “reaches our days.” “The most important thing is that right now we are establishing requirements for a minimum of knowledge, that is, the content of this course,” Mr. Mogilevsky said on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
From September 1, the study of history in Russian universities will become mandatory, it will have to take at least 144 hours. Starting this academic year, new textbooks for schoolchildren in grades 10-11 will also come in, which will also include sections on the military operation in Ukraine. New Unified History Textbook for Grades 5–9 planned prepare for 2024.
