Universities must accept a certificate of participation in a special military operation (SVO) upon admission, even if it does not correspond to the recommended form, but confirms participation in the SVO. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
“Higher education institutions, among other things, were given explanations according to which, if the certificate provided by the applicant does not correspond to the recommended form, but indicates that the citizen participated (participates) in a special military operation, repelling an armed invasion, then such a certificate confirms the fact of the citizen’s participation in a special military operation, repulse an armed invasion and is accepted by an educational organization, ”the message says (quote from TASS).
Earlier, Tatyana Moskalkova, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, said that some universities began to refuse to provide quotas to participants of the SVO upon admission. The Ministry of Education and Science asked applicants to send appeals to their department if they encounter a similar situation.
Participants in a military operation and their children can act to universities under a separate quota for bachelor’s and specialist’s programs for budgetary funds. The quota must be at least 10% of all places for enrollment. The same benefits are available for children of Heroes of Russia and for persons awarded three Orders of Courage.
