The Ministry of Economy will allow check-in into hotels with a military ID and driver’s license

The Ministry of Economy has developed a draft resolution that will allow check-in into hotels with a military ID, driver’s license and international passport. The project is posted on portal regulatory legal acts.

The draft resolution also proposes to allow check-in into hotels on the basis of the same documents in electronic form. It is expected that these measures will simplify the settlement procedure and registration procedures for citizens.

In January, State Duma deputies and members of the working group on a special military operation suggested that Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko include military tickets or military identification cards in the list of documents allowing check-in at hotels. The parliamentarians justified their proposal by the refusal of hotel employees to accommodate military personnel, including because of their appearance. “Each such incident has a serious demoralizing effect on the participants of the SVO, making them feel infringed on their rights to provide hotel services in Russia, which they defend with arms in hand,” said the deputies.
