The average cost of accommodation in Russian hotels will increase in July by 8-15% compared to last year, Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with members of the government.
“The average cost of living in a 3-star hotel in July will be a little more than 4,700 rubles, which is 8% more than a year ago. In hotels of 4-5 stars, the price increase is on average 15%, – leads his words TASS.
The minister also drew attention to the fact that the rise in the cost of accommodation in more expensive hotels is due to the shortage of the premium segment, as well as the fact that wealthy tourists have begun to choose holidays in Russia more often.
Former Vice President of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Sergey Romashkin informedthat the average cost of a spa holiday in Russia in May and summer increased by 12-13% compared to last year. At the same time, the resorts of the Caucasian Mineralnye Vody remain the most popular in this segment, the cost of which, against the backdrop of high demand, is twice as expensive as in other directions. Treatment in Kislovodsk, including transport, will cost 70,000 rubles, Romashkin noted.
Earlier in March, President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) Ilya Umansky predicted an increase in the tourist flow in Russia up to 10% compared to last year, abroad – by 25-30%. According to him, the dynamics of the tourist flow in Russia in 2023 will be determined by the availability of transportation and the availability of hotel infrastructure, the volume of which, according to Umansky, is growing every year.
