On February 6 and 7, strong earthquakes occurred in Turkey and Syria. Seismic activity is still possible, so the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation recommended that tourists refuse to travel to some Turkish regions.
“Due to increased seismic activity in the central and southern parts of Turkey, it is recommended to refrain from traveling to the provinces of Kahramanmaras, Malatya, Diyarbakir and Malatya and the Gaziantep region,” reads a message published on website departments.
The report of the Ministry of Economic Development says nothing about trips to Syria. True, there are not many who want to go there on vacation now.
Recall, on February 6 and 7, several strong tremors occurred in several Turkish and Syrian regions. Tens of thousands of people became victims of the earthquake, more than 3 thousand died.
Meanwhile, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), Russians are in no hurry to cancel purchased tours. True, the areas affected by the earthquake are located far from the popular Turkish resorts. And the possibility of a tsunami on the coasts is assessed as unlikely.
Now there are about 45 thousand Russians in Turkey. The day before there were open hotlines to which, if necessary, they can turn for help.
