The Ministry of Digital Development did not support the proposal of Valery Fadeev, Chairman of the Human Rights Council (HRC) under the President of the Russian Federation, to grant a deferment from partial mobilization only to those IT technology specialists who work in the military field.

“Given the restrictions imposed on the import of foreign IT solutions, it is necessary to quickly ensure the emergence of Russian competitive analogues in all significant niches. This is a matter of ensuring technological sovereignty,”— substantiated negative attitude to the proposal of Mr. Fadeev, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev. The minister stressed that there can be no real security in case of dependence on technologies from unfriendly countries.

Mr. Shadayev recalled that only employees of accredited IT organizations with relevant higher education are not called up, while these employees should be directly involved in the development and support of IT solutions.

Earlier, the head of the HRC expressed bewilderment, “why they immediately shielded all IT people.” In his opinion, the reservation should be distributed for those IT specialists who, for example, work with military and dual-use technologies.
