The Ministry of Digital Development explained how to install two-factor authentication on State Services

Starting today, Gosuslug users can log into the portal if they have enabled two-factor authentication, since changes to the Cabinet of Ministers resolution on the Unified Identification and Authentication System came into force on October 1.
With two-factor authentication, upon login, the user is asked not only for a password, but also for additional confirmation. It is received through a one-time SMS code, using biometric data, or through the current code in the CAKE application.
The second factor is required to enter the web version of State Services, as well as newly installed mobile applications. Users will not be able to access the portal without additional protection: those who have not yet enabled two-factor authentication will need to select one of the methods and confirm.
Two-factor authentication is designed to strengthen protection against hacking by users who create “weak passwords.”
