The Ministry of Digital Development explained cases of refusal of deferment to IT specialists

The media report isolated cases of military registration and enlistment offices refusing deferments from military service to IT specialists. The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation announced this on Friday, October 13.

The department’s Telegram channel emphasizes that such incidents are due to the fact that the company did not include the specialist in the lists or made a mistake in the data. Situations are possible when the necessary information for an IT company employee was submitted only during the spring call-up, but was forgotten in the fall.

It also happens that an IT specialist changed the military registration and enlistment office when the lists had already been submitted, and he could also change his place of work, while the new employer did not have time to submit the lists.

The Ministry of Digital Arts reminds that there is a hotline where you can report what happened. If a deferment is denied, you must email [email protected] the name of the company, your last name, first name and patronymic, the application number on the State Services, a mobile phone number for communication, and a photo of the summons.

It was previously reported that representatives of the IT sector who have been working in accredited companies for more than 10 months will be able to get a deferment from the army. The changes will come into force along with the adoption of a new law on increasing the draft age and will take effect in the spring conscription of 2024.
