The Russian Defense Ministry spoke about an unprecedented method for medical practice to restore the military who lost limbs during the hostilities. According to representatives of the ministry, in the Moscow Burdenko hospital, specially for the soldiers of the Russian army wounded in Ukraine, they introduced a method of “3D modeling of implants”, which allows the military to restore lost joints, muscles and skin.
As the Ministry of Defense clarified to journalists, several military men have already grown parts of their arms and legs after being wounded and have returned to their places of service.
“The new technology makes it possible, in particular, to create an individual three-dimensional implant for each patient, fully corresponding in size and shape to the lost bone fragment of the victim,” the ministry explained (quoted by RIA Novosti). According to the hospital staff, no medical institution in the world can offer such an operation now.
Earlier, Senator Eduard Isakov, during a visit to the hospital where soldiers of the Russian army who were wounded in Ukraine are kept, said one of them that he “will run”, because now there are “prostheses with electronics.” The soldier addressed by the parliamentarian had no legs.
