Russian pilots shot down three Ukrainian Air Force Su-25s in the Donetsk People’s Republic, reported Ministry of Defense in its daily summary.

“Fighter aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down three Su-25 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force in the areas of the settlements of Yasenovoye, Pushkino and Maksimilyanovka of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” the report says.

The defense ministry also said that Russian forces continued offensive operations in the Donetsk direction, striking at units of the 57th and 59th motorized infantry brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy’s losses amounted to 50 military personnel and one tank. In the Kupyansk and Krasnolimansk directions, the Russian Armed Forces launched artillery strikes on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, destroying a total of up to 60 Ukrainian servicemen and several vehicles.

In addition, as a result of Russian aviation and artillery strikes, two depots of rocket and artillery weapons of the 53rd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 108th Terodefense Brigade in the Konstantinovka area in the DPR were hit.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
