First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation for the CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Konstantin Zatulin told radio station “Moscow Says” that European countries and the United States do not intend to help the Armenian side in resolving the conflict.
“These are the maneuvers of the Pashinyan government,” the parliamentarian believes. For the past six months, activities have been carried out in Armenia to change allies, he believes. “Instead of Russia – the West,” Zatulin said.
On the one hand, the Armenian government, as he recalled, declares its desire to accept the Russian version of the settlement of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. “On the other hand, they talk about the unwillingness to take an active part in the CSTO,” Zatulin said. “Knowing full well that the CSTO is a union created by Russia.”
Earlier it was reported that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan considered it inappropriate to conduct CSTO exercises on the territory of his country. At the same time, according to him, Armenia is ready to sign a document on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict “within the framework of Russia’s proposals.”
