As a result of the strikes of the Russian Armed Forces on Ukrainian troops in the Kherson and Nikolaev regions, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 500 people, reported in the daily report of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
“As a result of massive fire strikes, the losses of the 24th and 28th mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Krasnoe Znamya and Novogrigorovka of the Nikolaev region, as well as the 46th airmobile brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Sukhoi Stavok and Belogorka of the Kherson region amounted to 500 servicemen dead and wounded,” the statement said.
40 vehicles were also destroyed. In the Kharkiv direction, Russian aviation hit the points of temporary deployment of the 116th territorial defense brigade and the Omega special forces detachment, up to 30 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 10 pieces of equipment were destroyed. In the Donetsk People’s Republic, Russian troops destroyed more than 80 fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, eight armored vehicles and five pickup trucks.
Since the end of August, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been attempting a counteroffensive. Ukrainian troops made attempts to advance in the Nikolaev and Kherson regions in three directions. Then the Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian troops repelled the attack. According to the agency, more than 1,200 Ukrainian servicemen were killed as a result.
At the beginning of September, offensive attempts continued. But the Russian military said that Ukraine’s actions were unsuccessful, the enemy suffered heavy losses. After that, according to the Ministry of Defense, Kyiv stopped the offensive in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction. At the same time, on September 10, the Russian military department announced the withdrawal of troops from Izyum and Balakleya in the Kharkiv region to the territory of the DPR.
