On the night of September 29, air defense shot down 11 Ukrainian drones over the Kaluga and Kursk regions. About it reports Russian Ministry of Defense.
“Duty air defense systems destroyed 11 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, one of them over the territory of the Kaluga region and 10 over the Kursk region,” the message says.
Governor of the Kursk Region Roman Starovoyt statedthat the region was “massively attacked” by Ukrainian Armed Forces drones. He thanked the military and citizens who reported drones in the sky. Starovoit also urged residents not to approach downed drones “due to the danger of self-destruction.”
At 05:00, Starovoit reported that a Ukrainian drone dropped two explosive devices on a substation in the Belaya settlement. As a result, one of the transformers caught fire, leaving five settlements and a hospital without electricity. Starovoit clarified that firefighters went to the fire at the transformer. Power will be restored “as soon as it is safe,” he said.
The governor of the Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, did not report the consequences of the night attack.
In the Kursk region, a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist threat remains in effect indefinitely. From October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a “medium level of response” has also been established in the region. In the Kaluga region, the same decree introduced a high alert regime.
