On November 21, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) continued shelling the territory of the Zaporozhye NPP in order to create a threat of a man-made disaster, eight shells were fired in total, reported The Russian Defense Ministry in its daily summary.
“The Kyiv regime continued provocations in order to create a threat of a man-made disaster at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. During November 21, the artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired eight large-caliber shells at the industrial zone of the nuclear power plant,” the report says.
The shelling was carried out from the Ukrainian-controlled settlement of Marganets, these positions were suppressed by return fire from Russian artillery, they added. The radiation situation at the nuclear power plant now remains normal.
Earlier today, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the situation at the ZNPP, declared on the continuation of Russia’s dialogue with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), noting that there was no significant progress in the issue of creating a security zone around the plant. He also accused the Armed Forces of creating a threat around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Active shelling of the Zaporizhzhya NPP by the Armed Forces of Ukraine resumed on November 19 and 20. According to Renat Karchaa, Advisor to the Director General of the Rosenergoatom Concern, 15 arrivals were recorded, including from special building No. 2, where fresh nuclear fuel is stored. The day before, Ukrainian forces also fired on Energodar, where the ZNPP is located.
