Russian troops have improved the position along the front line in the Kupyansk direction in the special operation zone in Ukraine, reported The Russian Ministry of Defense in its daily report.
“In the Kupyansk direction, units of the “Western” group of forces, during active operations, improved the situation along the front line, and also, with the support of aviation and artillery fire, repelled three attacks by the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the village of Novoegorovka, Kharkov region,” it says in the message.
Enemy losses in this area, according to the Ministry of Defense, amounted to up to 100 military personnel, as well as several pieces of equipment and artillery.
In the Zaporozhye direction, the forces of the 82nd Airborne Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces made five attempts to attack in the direction of the village of Verbovoye, all of them were repulsed. In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Armed Forces have already repelled 12 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Andreevka, Artemovsk, Orekhovo-Vasilevka and Veseloye in the DPR. Also, offensive actions of the Ukrainian side were recorded in the Krasnoliman and South Donetsk directions.
The Ministry of Defense also reported the destruction of command and observation posts of units of three brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Avdeevka and Serebryanka in the DPR.
September 7 Ministry of Defense reported about repelling 14 attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the villages of Rabotino and Verbovoye in the Zaporizhzhya direction, nine in the Donetsk direction, as well as a number of attacks on other sections of the contact line. The Ministry of Defense also spoke about the destruction of three sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Pereyaslavsky Island in the Kherson direction, as well as field ammunition depots near the villages of Krasnoye and Novomikhailovka in the DPR.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting offensive operations since the beginning of June. On September 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Ukraine’s counteroffensive “not a slippage, but a failure.” The Russian leader stressed that Moscow has never abandoned negotiations.
