The Ministry of Defense reacted to the video of the massacre of Russian prisoners of war

The published video of the alleged massacre of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over Russian prisoners of war once again proves the cruelty of the Kyiv regime. This statement was made in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, commenting on the publications that appeared on the network.

“The published new video evidence of the mass bloody massacre of Ukrainian military personnel over unarmed Russian prisoners of war confirms the savage nature of the current Kyiv regime headed by Zelensky and those who protect and support it,” says in the message.

The Ministry of Defense noted that this brutal murder was not the first war crime of the Ukrainian side. The ministry stressed that Kyiv actively supports such actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and prefers to ignore the West. The department also stated that the Russian side strictly complies with the requirements of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

The Ministry of Defense expressed confidence that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as his supporters, will be held accountable for war crimes “before the court of history, the peoples of Russia and Ukraine.”

Earlier, a video appeared on the network with the alleged execution of Russian prisoners of war by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the head of the Human Rights Council under the President of Russia Valery Fadeev, the incident took place in Makeevka (DPR). He addedthat the HRC will send information about the massacre to 2,000 international organizations, including the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, Amnesty International, the International Committee of the Red Cross, etc.

15 November UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine reported, which has data on torture and mistreatment of Russian prisoners of war. The head of the mission, Mathilde Bogner, noted that the incidents occurred “earlier during the conflict,” and videos of the massacre leaked to the network. In addition, as a result of interviews with 174 prisoners in places of detention, the mission documented cases of torture.
