The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation proposes to establish new standards for providing military personnel with living space. Today, a bill to amend the law “On the Status of Military Personnel” was submitted for public discussion on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
The document deals with standards in accordance with which the need of military personnel and their families to improve their living conditions is determined. Currently, their level of provision with living space is determined based on the accounting norm, the amount of which is established by the local government body in the locality of their residence.
At the same time, employees of the Investigative Committee, the prosecutor’s office, the police, and officials are provided with housing based on the universal standard of 15 square meters. m per person.
The Ministry of Defense proposes to extend this norm to the military. Thus, they will have equal rights with other Russian employees.
