The Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced the removal of equipment from storage

The Belarusian military has begun to remove equipment from long-term storage as part of the combat smoothing of the regional grouping of forces (RGV) of the Union State, informs press service of the defense department of the republic.

“As part of the joint activities of combat coordination of the regional grouping of troops (forces) of Belarus and Russia, units of the 11th separate mechanized brigade began to remove equipment from long-term storage,” the report says.

The Belarusian Defense Ministry also showed several photographs of the military preparing equipment.

In November 2022, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu informedthat since October 22, Russia and Belarus have been conducting combat coordination of formations and units of the regional grouping of troops on the territory of the republic. The events began after Russia and Belarus agreed to deploy a joint regional group of troops. The total number of Russian military personnel in it will be about 9,000 people.

Also from January 16 to February 1 in Belarus are held tactical flight exercises of the Union State. The main goal of the exercises is “increasing operational compatibility in the joint performance of combat training tasks.”

January 20 Ministry of Defense of Belarus reportedthat Russian and Belarusian pilots worked out attacks on air defense and command posts during the exercises.

Earlier, President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly stated about the increased threats from Western countries against Belarus. In particular, he claimed that Kyiv was working on opening a second front on the border with the republic. Today, January 24, he declaredthat the West continues to arm the Ukrainian troops, but at the same time Minsk is offered to conclude a non-aggression pact against Ukraine.
