On October 10, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced the increased threats that come from Western countries against the republic. In particular, he claimed that Kyiv was working on opening a second front on the border with Belarus.

On October 31, the Belarusian leader signed a decree on the establishment of joint combat training centers with Russia for the military of the two countries.

On the eve of January 12, Oleg Salyukov, Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation visited at one of the Belarusian training grounds, where he heard reports on the conduct of combat coordination as part of a regional group of troops. On the same day, Ukrainian Ambassador to Great Britain Vadym Prystaiko informedthat the Armed Forces of Ukraine were forced to withdraw part of their forces to the border with Belarus, because they fear an offensive from there.

In addition, from mid-October to December 2022 in the republic carried out scheduled verification of credentials of persons liable for military service. At the same time, Lukashenko has repeatedly denied reports about the plans of the Belarusian authorities to carry out mobilization in the country, by analogy with Russia.
