The Ministry of Defense delivered 40 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

On November 11, two special aircraft of the Russian Ministry of Defense delivered about 40 tons of humanitarian cargo to Afghanistan, the Russian side sent assistance in connection with the recent earthquake in Herat, reported press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The humanitarian cargo was delivered to Kabul on behalf of the Russian government and the Afghan Business Center in Moscow, the department specified.

“Russia continues to provide humanitarian assistance to the friendly Afghan people affected by the recent devastating earthquake in Herat,” the statement said.

An earthquake struck Herat, a city in northwestern Afghanistan, on October 7. As a result of a natural disaster died more than 2,400 people, almost 2,000 buildings were destroyed. The tremors were the deadliest in recent years in this country.
