The Ministry of Defense declared all ships going to the ports of Ukraine as potential military targets

All ships following the Black Sea to Ukrainian ports will be perceived by Russia as potential carriers of military cargo. About it reported in the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

“In connection with the termination of the Black Sea Initiative and the curtailment of the maritime humanitarian corridor, from 00:00 Moscow time on July 20, 2023, all ships moving in the Black Sea to Ukrainian ports will be considered as potential carriers of military cargo,” – says in the statement.

The Ministry of Defense also noted that the states under the flag of which the vessel is sent to Ukrainian ports will be considered involved in the conflict and supporting Ukraine.

On July 17, Russia announced its withdrawal from the grain agreement, which was signed on July 22, 2022 by representatives of Turkey, the UN, Russia and Ukraine. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov explained this by the failure to fulfill Russian conditions under the grain deal. He later noted that Ukraine used a grain deal zone for military purposes, and this is “no one’s secret.”

On July 22, separate agreements were concluded with Moscow and Kiev. The first is for the export of Ukrainian grain from three ports, including Odessa, Yuzhny and Chornomorsk, the second is for assistance in the export of Russian grain and fertilizers. The Russian authorities have repeatedly noted that the second part of the deal is not being implemented.
