The Military Transport Aviation (MTA) Command of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of the Russian Federation conducted military-tactical exercises for the crews of An-124-100 Ruslan military transport aircraft. Seven aircraft successfully covered more than 1 thousand km in difficult weather conditions, reports press service Ministry of Defense.
“The purpose of the flight-tactical exercise was to test the training of young crews of heavy military transport aircraft An-124-100 Ruslan in the simultaneous transfer over long distances of personnel of military units with standard weapons and military equipment,” the message states.
It is noted that during the exercises they practiced takeoff and landing in a short time. The flights took place in conditions of rain, strong gusts of wind and low clouds at an altitude of 4 thousand m. The average speed of the aircraft was about 500 km/h. The exercises were conducted under the leadership of the commander of the Military Transport Aviation of the Aerospace Forces, Lieutenant General Vladimir Benediktov.
