The Ministry of Defense announced the unsuccessful attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to advance in two directions

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have made unsuccessful attempts to attack in the Kharkiv and Nikolo-Kryvyi Rih directions, said the representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov.

“As a result of the fire damage of the units of the 14th mechanized brigade in the area of ​​​​the settlement of Russian Tishki, an attempt to attack the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkov direction was thwarted. The enemy’s losses amounted to over 50 people,” he said, commenting on the attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to advance in the Kharkov direction (cit. according to TASS).

According to Konashenkov, 56 survivors of the 14th mechanized brigade attempted to retreat towards Kharkov, as a result they came under fire from the Ukrainian nationalist battalion “Kraken”. Most of the retreating people died.

As for the ongoing attempts at offensives in the southern direction in the area of ​​​​the city of Nikolaev, it also turned out to be unsuccessful. During the day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost more than 350 people. “In the past 24 hours alone, during the fighting in this direction, the enemy lost 31 tanks, 22 infantry fighting vehicles, 18 other armored fighting vehicles, 8 pickup trucks with heavy machine guns, 17 units of special vehicles and more than 350 military personnel,” the Russian Defense Ministry said. Earlier, Reuters reported that the offensive of Ukrainian troops had begun in the southern direction, later the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, and the deputy head of the military-civil administration of the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov, denied this information, emphasizing that the Ukrainian side was not successful and was suffering huge losses.
