The Russian military prevented the attempt by the Ukrainian side of a massive drone attack on the objects of the Crimean peninsula, said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov.

“An attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a massive drone attack on the objects of the Crimean peninsula has been prevented. Six Ukrainian strike unmanned vehicles were shot down by air defense systems,” he said.

According to Konashenkov, four more Ukrainian drones were disabled by electronic warfare. There are no casualties or destruction on earth.

The day before, on February 28, a drone fell near the village of Gubastovo in Kolomna. The governor of the Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov suggested that the target of the drone was a civilian infrastructure facility. He clarified that no one was injured in the attack. Gazprom clarified that the drone fell near the Voskresensk station, this did not affect the operation of the station.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the suppression of drone attacks in Adygea and the Krasnodar Territory. In addition, on February 28, the sky over St. Petersburg was closed for two hours, the city government suspended the reception and departure of aircraft at the Pulkovo airport.

The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions. In early February, Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the Defense Ministry to prevent shelling of Russia’s border regions.
