Russian air defense systems shot down a Ukrainian drone in the Belgorod region. About it reports Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
“On October 23, at about 15:15 Moscow time, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack by an aircraft-type UAV on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped,” the message says.
Information about possible damage and casualties has not been specified. The regional governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, has not yet commented on the incident.
On October 22, a Ukrainian drone attacked the village of Spodaryushino in the Belgorod region, dropping two explosive devices, reported Gladkov in his Telegram channel. In the village of Murom, two fragmentation munitions were dropped from a drone, and another explosive device of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was dropped from a quadcopter on the outskirts of the village of Tsapovka. In all cases there were no consequences. On the same day, air defense systems shot down an aircraft-type drone in the Zadelny area; there were also no casualties or damage.
The Belgorod region, like other border regions, is regularly attacked by Ukraine. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a medium level of response has been established in the region. The region is also at an indefinite “yellow” (high) terrorism alert level.
