The Ministry of Defense announced that the spring conscription in Russia is over. According to the agency, 147 thousand people went to the armed forces (AF) and other military formations.

“In accordance with Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of March 30, 2023 No. 220, this spring, 147,000 people were called up and sent for military service by conscription into the armed forces of the Russian Federation and other military formations,” the statement says. message ministries.

The Ministry of Defense recalled that the draft commissions began work on April 1, and the dispatch of conscripts from the assembly points of the constituent entities started on April 20. To ensure military transportation, 14 flights of aircraft of the Armed Forces aviation, 9 military echelons, 153 flights of civil aviation, more than 2 thousand passenger train cars, as well as road transport of military units were involved.

“Most conscripts were enrolled in training formations and military units, where they will master modern military equipment and receive a military registration specialty within five months … About 490 young guys were sent to scientific and scientific production companies, and to sports companies about 200 people, members of the Russian national team in Olympic sports,” the department said.

The Ministry of Defense claims that conscripts who “have served the established terms of military service were fired in a timely manner and sent to their places of residence.”
