The Russian air defense system (AD) shot down a Ukrainian Su-27 in the Kherson region. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense in the next report on the progress of the special operation in Ukraine.
“Air defense systems shot down a Su-27 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force near the village of Kamenka, Kherson region,” says in the message.
According to the Ministry of Defense, over the past day, the Ukrainian military continued to attempt an offensive in the Donetsk, Krasnolimansk and Yuzhnodonetsk directions. In the Donetsk direction, the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation repelled nine enemy attacks, and four in the Krasnolimansky direction. In total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost one tank and six armored vehicles in these areas.
In the Yuzhnodonetsk direction, the RF Armed Forces repelled three attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the Zaporozhye direction, Russian troops destroyed a group of Ukrainian saboteurs. In total, the Ukrainian army lost two tanks and seven armored vehicles, including an American Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, in these two directions. Also in the Zaporozhye region, three depots of rocket and artillery weapons and ammunition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed.
The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. During the hostilities, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of the Russian Federation. According to the Ministry of Defense, since the start of the special operation, 446 aircraft, 240 helicopters, almost 4,900 drones, as well as almost 10,500 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been destroyed.
