The Ministry of Defense announced the disruption of the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Krasnolimansk and Kupyansk directions

The Russian military thwarted the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), reinforced by mercenaries, in the Kupyansk direction, more than 60 Ukrainian military and militants were destroyed. About it informed on Saturday, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov.

“In the Kupyansk direction, the active actions of the Russian troops thwarted the attacks of the company tactical groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reinforced by mercenaries, from the areas of the settlements of Pershotravneve, Kislovka, Krakhmalnoye of the Kharkov region,” Konashenkov said.

According to him, the manpower and equipment of the enemy have been eliminated. “As a result of being hit by artillery fire, assault and army aviation strikes, more than 60 Ukrainian servicemen and mercenaries, three tanks, one infantry fighting vehicle and two armored personnel carriers were destroyed,” he added.

In addition, Russian units prevented an attempted attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Krasnolimansky direction in the area of ​​​​the settlements of Chervonopopovka and Ploshanka in the LPR. Konashenkov said that during the fighting, up to 50 Ukrainian servicemen, three infantry fighting vehicles and two armored vehicles were destroyed.

In addition, a US-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar was destroyed near Avdiivka in the DPR.

The special military operation began on 24 February. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.

At the same time, on November 9, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu gave the order about the withdrawal of Russian troops to the left bank of the Dnieper after the commander of the Joint Group of Russian Forces Sergei Surovikin made a report on the situation in the NVO zone. On November 11, the Ministry of Defense reported on the completion of the withdrawal of troops from Kherson, the city is now under the control of Ukraine.
