The Russian military destroyed the Norwegian anti-aircraft missile system NASAMS in the special operation zone in Ukraine, transmits press service of the Ministry of Defense in the Telegram channel.

NASAMS is a mobile Norwegian anti-aircraft missile system designed to deal with maneuvering aerodynamic targets at low and medium altitudes. It can destroy UAVs, ballistic missiles, helicopters, airplanes, cruise missiles and other targets.

On January 22, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced the dispatch of NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine. The Pentagon then reported that the United States would send another $2.5 billion military aid package to Ukraine.
