The Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of a large warehouse with ammunition for HIMARS

The Russian military destroyed in the Dnipropetrovsk region a large ammunition depot of the 44th Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) with missiles for US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and shells for American M777 howitzers, informed official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov at a briefing on 27 August.

“A large ammunition depot of the 44th Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with missiles for US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and shells for American M777 howitzers was destroyed with high-precision ground-based weapons near the settlement of Preobrazhenka, Dnipropetrovsk region,” Konashenkov said.

The Ministry of Defense also reported that pilots of the Aerospace Forces in the DPR destroyed a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter.

“The Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force near the village of Malinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. In addition, a self-propelled launcher of the Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system was destroyed in the Grigorovka area, Konashenkov said.

In addition, the ministry announced the destruction of several command posts and warehouses of the Ukrainian army in a day.

Earlier Reuters, citing three sources reportedthat the United States is preparing to allocate a new package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $ 800 million. As the Pentagon later reported, the States are considering the possibility of transferring weapons to the Ukrainian side that can “ensure the success of the Ukrainian army in changing the situation on the battlefield in the southern and eastern regions of the country.”

It is known that the new aid package will include 1,500 Tow anti-tank missiles, HARM anti-radar missiles and 1,000 Javelin missile systems. Also, the Pentagon promised to transfer NASAMS mobile anti-aircraft missile systems and Phoenix Ghost loitering ammunition to Kyiv in the next 2-3 months.

The package included ammunition for the HIMARS MLRS and NASAMS air defense systems, 50 M113 armored medical vehicles, as well as 1000 FGM-148 Javelin portable anti-tank systems, medicines and explosives .
