Russian troops continue offensive operations in the Donetsk direction, informed the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.
“Successful offensive operations of Russian units continue in the Donetsk direction. More than 70 Ukrainian servicemen, two tanks, four armored combat vehicles and four pickup trucks were destroyed in a day,” he said in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense.
Konashenkov also spoke about the disruption of an attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to attack with the forces of two tactical groups in the direction of Chervonopopovka and Zhitlovka in the Krasnolymansk direction and an attack on a company tactical group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Tabaevka in the Kupyansk direction. In the South Donetsk direction, the Ukrainian side tried to counterattack the village of Nikolskoye, but was thrown back to its original positions.
In addition, Russian aviation and artillery hit the Armed Forces ammunition depot near Kamenskoye and the temporary deployment of foreign mercenaries in the areas of the settlements of Kramatorsk and Dibrova in the DPR. During the day, a Ukrainian Su-25 aircraft was also shot down in the sky over Yuryevka and a MiG-29 in the Zverevo area.
On November 28, the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, announced that Russian troops were close to the operational encirclement of Artemovsk (Bakhmut). After that, the points of Belogorovka and Pershe Travnya in the Donetsk direction were taken under control, Konashenkov said on November 30. Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24.
