The Ministry of Defense announced the continuation of the offensive in the Donetsk direction

Over the past day, Russian troops continued offensive operations in the Donetsk direction, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 190 military personnel and two howitzers, reported The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in its daily summary.

“In the Donetsk direction, during the continuation of offensive operations and artillery fire from the Southern Group of Forces, up to 190 Ukrainian servicemen, two infantry fighting vehicles, one armored personnel carrier, three vehicles, an Msta-B howitzer and an M777 artillery system made in the United States were destroyed in a day,” the statement says. in the message.

In other directions, the Russian Armed Forces continued to strike with artillery and aircraft. In the Krasnolimansky direction, units of the 67th, 92nd mechanized and 25th airborne brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit, as a result of which they lost up to 65 military personnel, two Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers and a Grad MLRS installation.

In the Kupyansk direction, as the Ministry of Defense notes, in the Kharkiv region, attacks were carried out on the positions of the 14th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 103rd brigade of territorial defense, and eight sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed in the LPR. The loss of the Ukrainian side amounted to 100 people.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
