The rotation of personnel of the peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh has been completed, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

“The rotation of personnel of the peacekeeping contingent has been completed, as well as the sending of weapons and military equipment to the Russian Federation for scheduled repairs,” the message says (quote according to TASS).

Peacekeepers continue to carry out tasks in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan, the representative office added. Continuous interaction is also maintained with Baku on compliance with humanitarian law in relation to civilians.

Ministry of Defense reported October 5 that Russian peacekeepers had closed temporary observation posts along the former line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh. Under the control of the Russian military, the counting of weapons, equipment, weapons and ammunition in the warehouses of the armed formations of Nagorno-Karabakh is taking place.

On September 19, Azerbaijan began military operations on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh to “restore the constitutional order.” The next day, Karabakh authorities announced the conclusion of agreements on a complete ceasefire.

On September 28, the President of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Samvel Shahramanyan signed a decree on the termination of its existence from January 1, 2024 and the disbandment of all government structures.

At the end of October, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov following a ministerial meeting in the “3+3” format on the South Caucasus statedthat the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been practically resolved, but the parties still have “practical” steps to normalize relations. Lavrov explained that now Baku and Yerevan need to take steps to prepare a peace treaty, delimitate borders and establish transport economic ties.
