On the night of May 22, the Russian military attacked the facilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) at the Dnipro airfield. “Tonight, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a group strike with high-precision long-range air-launched weapons against facilities at the Dnepr airfield. The target has been reached. All assigned objects have been destroyed. As a result of the strike, hangars with weapons and ammunition, aviation equipment, as well as a technical position for preparing missiles were hit.
The report of the defense department also states that the DPR managed to shoot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter with air defense systems in the area of \u200b\u200bthe settlement of Lozovoye. In addition, five HIMARS multiple rocket launchers were intercepted during the day.
In the areas of the settlements of Timkovka, Ivanovka and Kislovka of the Kharkiv region, the actions of three Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs) were suppressed. It was also possible to stop the actions of the Ukrainian DRG in the area of the settlement of Novodonetsk DPR.
The day before, on May 21, the head of the press center of the RF Armed Forces grouping “Center” Alexander Savchuk informedthat the Russian military recorded the movement of two brigades and one regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the special operation zone and inflicted fire damage on them. The press service added that the positions of the Ukrainian military were also hit in the Krasnoliman direction with the help of a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS). Also, during the counter-battery fight, Russian artillerymen suppressed the positions of cannon artillery and mortars of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian aircraft attacked ammunition depots, strongholds and points of temporary deployment of the enemy in the areas of Yampolovka in the DPR, as well as Kremennaya and Chervona Dibrova in the LPR, Savchuk noted.
