The Ministry of Defense announced a dangerous rapprochement between F-35 and Su-35 in Syria

Two F-35 fighters of the “international anti-terrorist coalition” led by the United States approached a pair of Su-35 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) in Syria. About it says in the message of the Center for the reconciliation of the warring parties and the control of the movement of refugees in Syria.

The “dangerous approach” took place on August 16 in the area of ​​the Al-Tanf military base at an altitude of about 7000 m. Russian aircraft at that time were performing a scheduled flight along the southern border of Syria. The center noted that the Russian pilots took timely measures to prevent a collision.

“By such actions, the coalition continues to create dangerous prerequisites for aviation incidents and accidents, and also aggravates the situation in Syrian airspace,” the statement said.

A similar situation occurred on 14 August. Then, at an altitude of about 9100, there was a dangerous convergence of two F-35s with Russian Su-35s during a planned flight.

On July 6, the US Air Force Central Office accused Russian fighter pilots of “unprofessional behavior.” In particular, according to the commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Lieutenant General Alex Grinkevich, on July 6, three Russian aircraft approached an American MQ-9 Reaper drone, which allegedly carried out a mission to destroy ISIS facilities (recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia and banned), and began dropping parachute flares in front of the UAV. In turn, the Russian side accused the United States of violating deconflict protocols in the area where Russian-Syrian exercises have been taking place since July 5.

Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov then declaredthat such accusations by the United States are beyond the bounds of decency, and that the United States itself violates the rules for flying in Syria.
