Quotas for the export of sunflower oil and meal, as well as a ban on the export of sunflower seeds and rapeseed, were introduced in March 2022. The Ministry of Agriculture explained that this measure will eliminate the possibility of shortages and a sharp increase in the cost of raw materials in Russia against the backdrop of increasing demand for Russian products. The ban was initially introduced until the end of 2022, but was then extended until the end of 2023.
