The Minister of Sports congratulated the Sakhalin athletes on their achievements at the “Children of Asia”

At the II Winter International Sports Games “Children of Asia”, which were held in Kuzbass from February 23 to March 5, 13 athletes from the Sakhalin Region competed for medals in the Far Eastern Federal District team. The Minister of Sports of the island region Artem Podshivalov met with the participants and noted the importance of this experience for future professionals, especially in the face of restrictions on the participation of Russian athletes in international competitions. This was reported in the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports.
According to the medal standings of the Games, the Far East team took fourth place, and out of 14 awards, eight came to Sakhalin – three gold, three silver and two bronze. One of the skiers, Artem Gorislavsky, shared his impressions of the competition, noting it as excellent and interesting, where he managed to win gold and silver in slalom.
Among the participants of the II Winter International Sports Games “Children of Asia” from the Sakhalin Region were snowboarders Kristina Zaitseva and Nikita Madzhara, skiers Daria Kosolapova, Sofya Goncharenko, Artyom Gorislavsky and Matvey Sumenkov, skiers Sergey Slyusarenko and Victoria Ilyushenko, figure skater Angelina Kim, as well as flying skiers Dmitry Seregin, Nikita Belenok, Elizaveta Markevich and Polina Pak.
