The military commissar of the city of Moscow, Colonel Maxim Loktev, said that mobilization measures had been completed in the capital from 14:00. At the same time, the military commissariats of the capital will continue to work with volunteers. How many residents of the capital fell under the draft is not specified.

“Partial mobilization measures have been completed in Moscow. The tasks set on the basis of the decree of the President of Russia and the assignment of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation have been fulfilled in full. From 14:00 on October 17, 2022, collection points for mobilized citizens in Moscow stopped their work on receiving mobilization resources,” said Mr. Loktev (quoted by RIA Novosti).

The colonel added that the Moscow commissariats continue to receive requests from volunteers who want to go to the front. For each appeal from a volunteer, the military registration and enlistment offices will make “personal decisions”.

Earlier today, October 17, on the completion of partial mobilization in the capital announced Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin. He stated that the sent summonses cease to have effect. Additional payments in the amount of 50 thousand rubles are provided for the capital’s mobilized. Mayor also introduced additional measures to support families of mobilized citizens. On October 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that partial mobilization would be completed in two weeks.
